Friday September 15, 2023 9:00am-11:00pm PST

Live Online Seminar through Zoom

Instructors:

Trevor M. Ahrendt, PsyD
Julie Aronowitz, LCSW

This workshop will be the first in a series on Challenging Cases, each focused on a different clinical area. This session will be focused on the concept of enmeshment. We will discuss the concept of enmeshment, what perspectives control mastery theory brings to the conversation, and then explore its application to a couple of cases together and identify key questions to utilize in one's own conceptualization of cases with enmeshed clients and develop unique formulations and treatment approaches for each new case.

After completing this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Identify how 3 different models of therapy view enmeshment
  • Describe how control-mastery would formulate and approach enmeshment in case-specific ways
