Jim McCollum presented Moral Injury: A Control-Mastery Theory Perspective to SFPA members as part of their peer support seminar series. The talk focused on moral injury and how CMT is a useful lens for therapists to use in formulating and working with a case where a patient is experiencing a conflict between the circumstances they find themselves in and their beliefs about right and wrong. As part of the discussion, some examples of testing and coaching were presented. The audience seemed very interested in these ideas, and many were interested in how they could learn more about the CMT approach.
