SFPRG Membership

If you are a mental health professional (practicing, student, or academic), or are a person interested in psychotherapy research, we cordially invite you to become a member of the San Francisco Pyschotherapy Research Group. We are excited about our plans for expanding our teaching programs and our training center, and to accomplish this we need your support and participation. Member support of our training, research, and teaching programs is vital to the future of our organization. Please take this opportunity to join SFPRG at the highest level that you can afford, and help us create a new era for SFPRG. (Membership dues are ordinarily tax deductible for licensed professionals. We are also a 501(c)3. Check with your tax preparer.)

SFPRG has made important strides during the past year in growing our organization. We expanded our course offerings and are creating new opportunities for members to teach, participate in study groups, and serve on committees. Among the new member benefits we will be offering this year are free research consultation and free writing consultation with plans underway to offer low-fee case consultation. (If you would like to help provide any of these services please contact the office.)

Our clinic and training program have been hugely successful. There is no better low fee therapy available anywhere in the Bay Area. We now have 10 superb interns, excellent supervisors, and outstanding applicants for training. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to all who supervised and taught classes. Our program would not be possible without their generous help and support. Please continue to spread the word that our clinic is accepting referrals on a sliding scale from $25 -$90. We have new interns starting in the Fall, as well as many returning interns continuing to be trained in Control Mastery Theory.

Our organization has prospered under the skillful leadership of our Board, the hard work of our Executive Director, Rob Petitpas, and our hard-working committee chairs and committee members. We will effect change even more if you join SFPRG and lend us your support. If you are interested in joining a committee, please email the office at sfprg-deleteme[at]-deleteme-sfprg [dot] org. Most of the committees meet at our Presidio office, often on Fridays at noon.

Please join us as a member of SFPRG. We need to grow the organization and spread the word about SFPRG and the great Control Mastery legacy left to us by Joe Weiss and Hal Sampson.

Please join us in our effort to conduct research on the psychology of the mind, especially as it bears on the effectiveness of psychotherapy; to support the training of mental health professionals through our training center; to provide mental health services through our low-fee clinic, and to promote mental health through the education of the public. If you have any questions about membership, please call the office at 415-561-6771.
