Our gratitude to these remarkable men is huge. Our organization was created by their careful study of the therapeutic process and commitment to discovering lawful principles which govern the practice of psychotherapy. They have devoted endless hours to researching and further developing Weiss’ theories of how the mind works. Hundreds of clinicians have studied under them and countless patients have benefited from their incredible talents as teachers. Joe Weiss, the developer of Control Mastery Theory and co-founder of SFPRG, died on Sunday, November 7th, 2004. Harold Sampson, his long time collaborator and co–director of SFPRG, retired on January 15, 2005. Theses pages are devoted to tributes to them. They are surely missed and we will be forever in their debt.
